Successful businessman Raymundo Ottoni de Castro Maya (1894-1968) inherited the Chacara do Ceu mansion in 1936 and renovated it with the help of modernist architect Wladimir Alves de Souza. It now houses his extensive art collection, which includes works by Dali, Matisse, Picasso and what is said to be the largest existing collection of Debret's works.
